On August 8th, 2024, the University Business Linkage of University of Jaffna (UBL-Jaffna) program was introduced to the incoming law freshers during a dedicated session from 3:35 PM to 4:00 PM. The session highlighted the UBL program’s vital role in fostering collaboration between academia and industry, particularly in the areas of technology transfer, commercialization, intellectual property (IP) management, and patenting. Freshers were informed about how the program supports the development and transfer of university innovations to the market, enabling students and faculty to engage in commercial ventures and secure IP rights. The importance of understanding the legal aspects of these processes was emphasized, making the session particularly relevant to law students.
