GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SERVICE (DAAD) – FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
Call for proposals now open for Higher Educational and Research Institutions
DAAD has opened calls for proposals under the following two funding schemes in fostering bilateral/multilateral academic and research collaboration aimed at higher educational and research institutions. Funding for both the German and Sri Lankan collaborative institutes will be provided by the DAAD.
Key eligibility requirement:
· Sri Lankan prospective applicants should establish a collaboration with a German university / research institution
Funding scheme – 01
Partnerships for the Health Sector in Developing Countries (PAGEL)
· Supports the development of curricula and capacities at the partner universities by means of bilateral or multilateral university partnerships.
· Provides support for returning graduates, alumni and the creation of professional networks.
· Deadline for submission of applications: June 30, 2020

Funding scheme – 02
Subject-Related Partnerships with institutions of Higher Education in Developing Countries
· A scheme for cooperation between higher education institutions.
· Applies to cooperation in any given research field.
· This program supports the partner institutions to set up subject-related networks on development-related issues and to consolidate existing cooperation structures.
Prospective applicants (i.e. the German counterparts) should submit their applications directly to DAAD and not to NSF. Any further clarification can be obtained from the DAAD Sri Lanka office (colombo@daad-sri-lanka.org).
